The most important characteristics of diamonds are carat weight, colour, clarity and cut.

Carat weight:
Carat is the most misunderstood of the 4Cs. It actually refers to a diamond's weight, not the diamond’s size.

Colour:
The highest quality diamonds are colourless, while those of lower quality have noticeable colour, which manifests as pale yellow in diamonds. The Gemmological Institutes grades diamond colour on a scale of D (colourless) to Z (light yellow or brown).

Clarity:
Diamond clarity is the assessment of small imperfections on the surface and internally. The surface flaws are called blemishes, and internal defects are known as inclusions. These tiny, natural blemishes and inclusions are microscopic and do not affect a diamond’s beauty in any way. Diamonds with the least and smallest inclusions receive the highest clarity grades.

Cut:
The round brilliant cut diamond is by far the most popular and most researched diamond shape available today. Other cuts are marquise, oval, emerald, princess, asscher, radiant, pearl, heart.

The Investment:
The value of diamonds has a long history and has been tested in different times. It increases with time and diamonds are preferred to gold not only because of their compact size, but also because of the more conservative price fluctuations. In addition to the expected increase of value – a clear trend for decades, they are quickly convertible on any market in the world and you can get an immediate liquidation return on the invested amount, if needed. As with any investment, the longer-term commitment implies better returns. According to the Financial Times, it is suitable to invest in a diamond with weight of at least 1ct, which you keep for 5 or more years. In the last decade the price of diamonds had increased by 170% on average.

Security:

GIA and HRD certificates are an internationally recognized standard for any diamond. Each investment diamond has been classified and marked by laser and has clearly determined characteristics, which is a 100% guarantee of its authenticity. You can make a check for your own peace of mind in any certified laboratory.

The Price:

Rapaport Price List is considered the most widely used industry standard for determining wholesale prices – between factories and retailers. Anyone can subscribe and receive real time information about changes in prices of different diamond classes. The information is subject to copyright, it is regularly updated, and the price also depends on the specific gemstone, because, unlike homogeneous gold, each diamond is unique. EliteID prices are based on the latest Rapaport prices, after VAT and bank commissions have been included – from 8 to 1.5% depending on the size of the diamond, in order to guarantee the security of the investment product.
